Charting

Charts help users compare current price movement with prior market behavior. In Trading Console, live and historical series remain in the same workspace as quotes, option chains, orders and positions.

01

Series and history

Using the same series definition for historical bars and live updates keeps the chart consistent as the market changes. The definition records the instrument, data type, aggregation and price basis.

02

Layouts

Multiple chart spaces are useful when related instruments or time views need to be compared. Layouts retain their arrangement and settings in the workspace.

03

Indicators and drawings

Indicators and drawings keep recurring calculations and observations visible on the relevant chart. Built-in indicators, calculated values and drawing settings remain attached to the chart content.

Charts remain connected to the workspace.

Instrument and account context remains available when moving between chart analysis, quotes, orders and positions. The live console includes the charting features described on this page.

Charts retain their context

A chart is more useful when related instrument information remains close by. Trading Console keeps series, layouts and connected workspace views together so the same market can be examined without rebuilding its surrounding context.
